  1. My contract expires September 2015, and as I require more space I need to terminate the lease contract before expiry. My landlord said that in addition to 3 months notice period I will pay several penalties. Is that legal?

  2. Do you have a proper email for me to reach RERA ? I live in Canada and have disputes to speak to them about. I tried their emails and doesn’t work and no one picks up the phone. Have been trying for years along with DLD. Thank you,

    • Dear Mike,

      Thank you for your inquiry.

The most effective way to reach RERA and DLD is to go in person or appoint a power of attorney on your behalf to sort out your inquiries and issues. RERA is now located in the same location of DLD. I hope this helps.

      Best Regards,

  3. We have rented a 5bedroom villa in Mirdif, Dubai, the real estate agent told us that he has done all the repairs, we provided him 10 days for all the maintenance work in the villa, after shifting in the villa we are atuck here because everything here inside is broken, water valves were leaking, water heaters are full of rust, water tank was dirty, tank cap was missing. Airconditioner were not serviced. Real estate agent promised us that he would also do pest control, he did not do it, n there are so many ants inside the villa, we have serviced and repaired all aircons on our expense. Even called plumber and got the leaks fixed. Replaced water heaters and water taps as they all were rusted. we spoke to the landlord and now he is saying that he would not do any maintenance in the villa or pay for anything.
Kindly suggest what could be done?
